What I'm focused on

What Matters to Ward 1

The issues confronting Ward 1 are as diverse as Oakville itself. From traffic and development to community services, safer streets and green space, every corner of our community deserves a strong local voice.

01

Rethinking Growth

Review growth projections in order to protect our community's identity. They don't represent today's market reality.

02

Affordable Housing

Advocate for more innovative, affordable housing options while preserving our existing rental options.

03

Investing in Our Community

Advance the Bronte Waterfront Strategy and Streetscape Plan — a skating loop, better green spaces, stronger trail connections. And bring a library to Bronte: we are the only ward without one.

04

Congestion

Relieve traffic by optimising signals and adding capacity where needed, while improving transit and active transportation.

05

Public Safety

Reduce break-ins and car theft, calm traffic on our streets, and guide sensible regulation of e-scooters.

06

Vibrancy

Expand the local farmers market, support small businesses, seasonal events and neighbourhood initiatives. Increase parking supply in Bronte Village.
